Meal PlansPurdue University Residences offers a variety of meal plans to fit your busy schedule. You may choose from the 10-, 12-, 15-, or 20-meal traditional plans (number based on swipes per week). Unused meals expire at the end of the week. For upperclassmen (classification of sophomore 3 and above), we also offer the Boiler Block Plan. With the Boiler Block Plan, you may use your meal swipes as often as you wish. You may eat your meals and use Dining Dollars in University Residences' dining facilities weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and weekends 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Off-campus students are not eligible to purchase these meal plans. Please view Open Dining Card for a meal purchase option. Note: Hawkins Hall and Purdue Village Married and Family residents may purchase Open Dining Cards or use BoilerExpress for dining in University Residences dining facilities.
The traditional meal plans include a specific number of meal swipes per week along with a specific amount of Dining Dollars. Swipes in these plans expire at the end of the week if not used. Since the swipes are “budgeted” over the course of the contract, you can’t use too many and come up short later. Also, the meal swipes in these plans may only be used by the meal plan owner. 20-Meal PlanThis plan includes 20 swipes per week and $125 Dining Dollars per semester. It gives residents the most access to all dining and On the Go! locations. It is ideal for the student who wants to eat almost every meal in University Residences. View Housing Rates categorized by Meal Plan 15-Meal PlanThis is our most popular plan. It includes 15 swipes per week and $175 Dining Dollars per semester. If you’re always on the move, or if breakfast just seems to come too early, consider this plan. You’ll enjoy about two meals a day and more Dining Dollars to use at the mini-marts and grills. View Housing Rates categorized by Meal Plan 12-Meal PlanNew for 2008-2009: This plan will include 12 swipes per week and $225 Dining Dollars per semester. It offers more control, more flexibility — more for you. View Housing Rates categorized by Meal Plan 10-Meal PlanThis plan includes 10 swipes per week and $125 Dining Dollars per semester. It is ideal for students who eat fewer meals or have jobs or internships off campus. It’s the same food – you just can’t swipe your card as often. Note: A block plan is for students with an academic classification of Sophomore 3 and above. A block meal plan includes a specific number of meal swipes per semester and a specific amount of Dining Dollars. Any meal swipes remaining after the first semester of the plan will be added to the second semester total. Any swipes remaining at the end of the meal plan contract period will expire. This type of meal plan is ideal for students who do not typically use all their weekly swipes on a traditional plan and who eat a consistent number of meals per week. A block plans also allows you to pay for meals for accompanying friends or family (if you want). This plan is only available for purchase by students who have a sophomore 3 or higher classification. Boiler Block PlanThis new block meal plan will include 246 meal swipes and $450 Dining Dollars per academic year. The meal swipes and Dining Dollars don't expire until the end of the academic year - not each week like the traditional meal plans. Plus, you may use the Boiler Block Plan for yourself and for guests accompanying you in any University Residence's dining facility. Our most common questions about meal plans are answered at Dining Services FAQs. Dining DollarsMeal plans contain a specific amount of Dining Dollars each semester.
