Cary QuadrangleInformationMoving InMove in schedule for Boiler Gold Rush and non-Boiler Gold Rush students and guidelines for what to bring to campus. Residential LifeThe mission of the Cary Quadrangle staff is to foster an environment conducive to academic success, safety, and personal growth by being actively involved in our residents' lives. This will be reached by providing residents with outside-the-classroom educational opportunities, supporting the community respect initiative of University Residences, and implementing novel, interactive and diverse programs. A wide variety of activities and strong traditions are offered at Cary, including Cary Fest, a week of events before the Springtime Grand Prix race. Residence AmenitiesEach unit of Cary Quadrangle offers a variety of common areas. Each unit has study lounges, recreational lounges, pool tables, table tennis, Big Screen TV Viewing areas, laundry and vending areas. Cary has a centrally located computer room with a dozen stations. Cary Quadrangle also boasts a unique enclosed courtyard area that is great for games, Frisbee, tossing a ball, having a Bar-B-Q, or just laying in the sun. It’s also great for building a snowman in the winter. Cary offers a cinema series during which movies are shown on a three-story screen in the courtyard (weather permitting). RenovationsCary Quadrangle was renovated starting in the summer of 2000 with completion in the summer of 2006. The renovation included upgraded electrical, plumbing, heating/ventilation and telecommunication utilities in the living and community spaces in each of the Cary Quadrangle buildings. East, Northeast, West and Northwest buildings had all student rooms converted into air conditioned suites, which included adding bathrooms between every two rooms. The total cost for the Cary renovation was $53.6 million. The Cary ClubThe Cary Club is actually made up of many clubs under one central leadership. Each housing unit has its own club with its own funding that governs that particular unit. There are also the executive council of Cary Club to which each of the unit clubs send their executive officers. This central executive council has officers and all the executive officers of the unit clubs are the voting body of the central executive council. Below are listed just a few of the clubs under the advisement of the Cary Club. Read more about the Cary Club.
Hall check-in is normally conducted centrally, in the Cary courtyard, or in each unit’s 1st floor lounge. Specific details will be mailed out during the summer. Remember to check into your room before beginning to unload your vehicle. Faculty Fellows: Cary Quad boasts one of the largest Faculty Fellow programs in terms of participatory members. Our 22 Faculty Fellows are extremely energetic and make themselves available to our residents via Resident Assistant collaboration as well as formal and informal gatherings. From watching a Purdue football away game in the Cary Theatre with an outstanding tailgating atmosphere, to meeting for lunch or dinner with residents once a week, the Faculty Fellow program at Cary is an active and productive opportunity for Resident Assistant, residents, and Faculty Fellows to interact with each other.
