Residential Life

Harrison Hall is one of the University Residences that houses Learning Communities. Learning Communities are a great way to quickly become familiar with the Purdue campus and the multitude of activities available. Learning Communities provide an excellent chance to meet and connect with fellow students living in the same hall and interested in your area of study.

For the 2005-06 academic year, Harrison's Learning Communities are:

Entrepreneurial
Animalia
Pre-Pharmacy
Nursing Nexus
Network Engineering (men)

Besides supporting Learning Communities, the residential life staff and the Cavalier Club (Harrison’s student government) sponsor many social and educational programs throughout the year for the benefit of all residents. Programs occur every week, whether on an individual floor basis or as a larger hall event.

Amenities
Harrison Hall has an array of amenities available to its residents. Including several study lounges that provide a quiet environment for your educational needs. If you need to wind down from a long day of classes, a recreational room with a pool table, a foosball table, and a ping-pong table is available for your enjoyment. A TV lounge with a large screen TV and couches is also available for socializing. If you enjoy playing musical instruments, a music room is available for you to practice the piano or a musical instrument you may have brought from home. You can also check out a key to play the grand piano in our formal lounge.

The Cavalier Club
The student-run hall government is an organization devoted to providing social activities and representing the voice of the residents of Harrison Hall. The purpose of the Cavalier Club is to provide, maintain, and improve the most stable living environment that will foster the ability to obtain the education that the residents of this hall so desire. Included in this purpose is the promotion of leadership, compassion, and teamwork among residents. The club aspires to provide a social atmosphere, create opportunities for community service, offer means for improving the living conditions of the residents, and represent the residents of Harrison Hall in the eyes of Purdue University to the best of its ability.

Moving in to Harrison
Harrison Hall will have check-in outdoors in front of the hall. The check-in tent will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, Sunday, August 17, Friday, August 22, and Saturday, August 23. If you are checking-in outside of the hours listed above please report to the Main Office. Street parking can be used for unloading. We are asking everyone to relocate their vehicles to the Fowler Lot (gravel lot located just east of Harrison Hall) so others may use the space to unload. Our hope is that the easy access of this outdoor check-in will help with the flow of traffic to the back dock area.

Faculty Fellows
Harrison Hall has an active group of Faculty Fellows from around campus, with a wide variety of departments represented. Most of our Faculty Fellows have a night each week that they join their floor for dinner. We are fortunate to have an Animal Science faculty at our hall who works closely with our learning community, "Animalia". In addition, an Associate Director of Recruitment for the College of Pharmacy is the Faculty Fellow to our Pre-Pharmacy Learning Community.
