The
stately Edward C. Elliott Hall of Music is located in the center
of Purdue’s West Lafayette campus. This 6,025 seat auditorium
is one of the largest proscenium theaters in the world. The Elliott
Hall of Music is a busy space accommodating many varied events.
Purdue
Convocations presents large scale musicals, operas, ballets, rock,
country, pop groups as well as comedians, lectures, and symphonies.
Elliott is also home to the nationally recognized Purdue Musical
Organizations' Christmas Show. The University’s commencement
exercises, lectures, honors programs, and numerous conference events
round out the yearly activities.
The
building houses the offices and rehearsal rooms for the Purdue Musical
Organizations, University Bands, the staff of the Elliott Hall of
Music, as well as the studios of the oldest university public radio
station in the country, WBAA.
