Apply Online for HousingATTENTION CURRENT STUDENTS
This online housing application is for NEW students to University Residences only. If you are a current resident of University Residences, please do not complete this online housing application. You can renew your housing contract online for the 2008-2009 Academic Year at the Contract Renewal Web site.Apply for Undergraduate Housing
New students who have been admitted to Purdue University may apply for University housing using this online application. The preferential housing application deadline is March 1, 2008. All new beginning students should return their housing application and $75 housing deposit (credited to your first housing bill) immediately after being notified of your admission to the University and before the March 1 date, even if you have not made a final decision about attending Purdue University. Housing assignments generally are made in the order in which housing applications and $75 housing deposits are received, after housing assignments are made for certain groups, such as Learning Communities and National Merit Finalists. You will be given the opportunity to submit your housing preferences at the time you receive your housing contract mailing. Students who return their housing application and deposit after March 1 will be assigned to accommodations if space is available.

SPECIFIC RESIDENCE PREFERENCES AND ROOMMATE REQUESTSSpecific residence and roommate information is not requested on the enclosed housing application. You will be given the opportunity to prioritize your specific residence preferences and request a specific roommate at the time you are offered a housing contract. Mutual roommate requests are honored if possible, as long as both the housing application and contract have been submitted before May 1 for each student. Assignments are made based upon the priority date of the latest housing application submitted by the two students. ROOMMATE PAIRINGS FOR STUDENTS WHO DO NOT REQUEST A SPECIFIC ROOMMATEIn the event you do not have a specific roommate preference, we will use the information you provide at the time you submit your housing preferences and sign a housing contract. Assignment to a room in University Residences is made without regard to race, color, national origin, or sexual orientation. We have been highly successful in using such factors as age, class, school, and other characteristics. However, in instances when roommates are not well suited to each other, room changes may be made after the beginning of classes. ASSIGNMENTSAssignments are dependent upon the availability of space. Priority is given to first semester freshmen. It may be necessary to assign transfer students and students other than beginning freshmen to accommodations specifically designated as upperclass student facilities. In establishing priority for assignment, the University uses the date of receipt of the enclosed housing application and $75 housing deposit – not the date of receipt of the signed housing contract and preference information. Please refer to the calendar below for notification of assignment. RELEASE FROM HOUSING CONTRACTSA student who has signed a housing contract will not be granted a release from the full financial obligations of his or her housing commitment to take residence in any other type of housing, such as a sorority, fraternity, apartment, cooperative house, private home, or other place of residence during the academic year of the contract if enrolled at the West Lafayette campus. A married student may be released from the contract to live with his or her spouse in accommodations for married couples if space is not available in the Purdue Village Apartments. MEDICAL CONDITIONIf you have a medical condition that will require special housing accommodations, it should be noted on the housing application. A physician's documentation may be required. For more specific information, contact Robert G. Heitert, Director of Administration, University Residences Directors’ Office, Purdue University, Smalley Center, 1225 Third Street, West Lafayette, IN 47907-2008. RATESThe academic year rates for room and board vary depending upon the meal plan option and the facility to which you are assigned. All quoted rates are subject to change as approved by the Purdue University Board of Trustees. What are the deadlines for the University Residences application process?
