Students who contract for summer housing may move in any time after 9:00 a.m. on the Sunday before their summer session begins at no additional charge. Rooms in Hawkins Hall are study/sleeping rooms, not small apartments. Cooking in the rooms at Hawkins Hall is discouraged; however, there is a kitchenette on the main floor of Hawkins Hall if you prefer to do some of your own cooking. Also, microwave ovens can be found on each floor for your use. Small electrical appliances such as coffeepots, popcorn poppers, refrigerators, and microwaves are permitted in student rooms.
Student contracts will be for available space at Hawkins Hall. Notification of specific room assignment will be made when you check-in at Hawkins Hall. All assignments will be made on a first come-first served basis, space permitting.
While we try to accommodate roommate requests, we cannot assure these requests will be met.
The guest plan approved for the 2012-2013 Academic Year, which complies with the guidelines established by the Purdue University Board of Trustees, will be in effect during the summer session.
The guest hours policy allows 24-hour visitation, seven days a week. At the time the summer contract is submitted, each student will have the option to elect to live in a room where no guest visitation privileges will be permitted (no guests of the opposite gender, including parents/guardians and other family members, allowed at any time).
As a reminder, all University Residences facilities are designated as smoke free.
It is with pleasure that we anticipate being of service to you in Hawkins Hall during your summer stay.
