Contract for Summer 2015 Summer Housing

The summer housing contract will be available beginning Monday, March 2, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. 

Location

Undergraduate students taking summer session classes or who will be completing summer research for an academic department at Purdue University during the 2015 Summer Session will be housed at Harrison Hall.  (McCutcheon Hall will be used only after Harrison Hall is filled.)  All spaces will be air conditioned.  Harrison Hall will have double rooms and double rooms converted to single rooms for the summer.

Important Notes:

  • Your room and meal plan charges will be assessed for the entire summer session you choose and sign a contract for – regardless of late arrival or early check-out.
  • Summer room and meal plan charges will be assessed and will appear in your MyPurdue account beginning in May.
  • Students who live on campus during the summer are required to take a 13-Meal Plan.
  • Dining Dollars will be distributed on a weekly basis for the selected summer contracted session.

Meal Plan

A required 13-meal plan will be included in the 2015 Summer Session Contract.  Meal swipes may be used in any of the Purdue Dining & Catering’s residential dining courts that are serving.  In addition to 13 meals per week, students will also receive an allotment of Dining Dollars, based upon the selected summer contracted session, which may be used to purchase extra meals for themselves or their accompanying guest in Purdue Dining & Catering residential and retail dining locations.  Summer meal swipes and Dining Dollars will start on the Monday breakfast of the selected summer contracted session.  Unused Summer Dining Dollars are non-refundable, will expire at the end of the selected summer contracted session, and will not carry over to the fall semester.

New Students Admitted for the 2015 Summer Session

After accepting your offer of admission, wait up to two business days to gain access to the housing contract.

Current Purdue University Students

Current Purdue University students who will be attending summer school or who will be completing summer research for an academic department at Purdue University may contract for summer housing.

Once you contract for summer housing, you will be expected to fulfill all the terms and conditions of the selected summer contracted session.

Year-Round Contract

(Available to current Purdue University students only)

If you’re interested in an year-round accommodation (May 2015-May 2016) and receive a reduced rate of $2,880 (double room with required 13-meal plan) for the 2015 Summer Session, you have the option of signing a year-round contract addendum.  Please note the following provisions:

  • Will be available to current students of Purdue University who sign a summer housing contract for the 12-week summer session in addition to a contract for the following academic year
  • Double room occupancy only
  • Student is required to stay in designated space at Harrison Hall for the 2015 Summer Session and the 2015-2016 Academic Year
  • Student will be able to stay in the assigned room during the break between the end of the summer session and the beginning of the Fall Semester and also during Winter Break.  Charges for the break periods will be waived.

If you have a 2015-2016 Academic Year contract with University Residences, early move-in to your fall assignment may be available for an additional fee.

Amenities

Rooms in Harrison Hall are study/sleeping rooms, not small apartments.  Small electrical appliances such as coffee pots, popcorn poppers, refrigerators, and microwaves are permitted in student rooms.

Parking

Students who have signed a contract to live in Harrison Hall for their selected summer contracted session will be eligible to park in any designated University Residences parking space with no charge.

Room Assignments

Student contracts will be for available space at Harrison Hall (or McCutcheon Hall if needed).  Notification of specific room assignment will be made when you check-in at your assigned residence.  All assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis – space permitting.

Roommate Requests

While we try to accommodate roommate requests, we cannot assure these requests will be met.

Guest Policy

The guest plan approved for the 2014-2015 Academic Year, which complies with the guidelines established by the Purdue University Board of Trustees, will be in effect during the summer session.  The guest hour’s policy allows 24-hour visitation, seven days a week. 

As a reminder, all University Residences facilities are designated as smoke free.
