Christa Pazera

Director of Residential Life

Christa B. H. Pazera is an educator and student affairs professional who has focused her 23-year career in Residential Life and Housing. In her current role, she works to provide vision, leadership and a student centered focus for the professional and student staff on the Residential Life team who support students living in on-campus in residence halls, apartments and student family housing communities. She has spent two decades at Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus. She is a proud Boilermaker, earning both her BA and MS degrees in Education from Purdue. From her first semester as a resident assistant, she knew she wanted to work with college students the rest of her life. She has held a variety of positions within University Residences, starting with entry level housing management, mid-level Residential Life roles and now as Director of Residential Life.

She also has experience working at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana as a live-in hall director. There, she enjoyed the ability to build relationships with students as well as many department and college staff in a small, liberal arts setting. Lessons learned from wearing many hats still influence her work today.

Through the positions she has held, she has gained experience working with a variety of student identities in traditional residence hall and apartment style housing. Christa has had the privilege to create system-wide processes, facilitate presentations, and supervise staff and students during her career. In addition, she appreciates the daily opportunities to connect and work with colleagues within Student Life and other campus partners.

Christa looks forward to engaging in future opportunities to help and educate students. She will work with the team to meet and prepare for the needs of students. She considers it a privilege to serve in the role of Director of Residential Life, helping students and staff during their journey at Purdue.
