Faculty-in-Residence - How to Apply

The application page for an Amelia Earhart Faculty-in-Residence position will be updated as positions are available.

Below are the general guidelines for the application submission. Applications will include the following information along with a Statement of Interest, Curriculum Vitae and a List of References submitted toFiR@purdue.edu

Please note: Submissions should not exceed 3 pages in length and should address the following:

  • Campus Address
  • Campus Phone Number
  • Title
  • Email address
  • Preferred Contact Number
  • Why are you interested in the Faculty-in-Residence (FiR) position?
  • Please describe your research interests.
  • What hobbies/interests do you have outside of your research?
  • How would you utilize the FiR position to:
    • Assist in nurturing a learning environment within the residential community?
    • Support students’ academic success (grades, full-time enrollment, major selection, etc.)?
    • Promote student engagement on campus?
    • Foster student development and growth?
    • Create a sense of community among students?
    • Encourage students to attend events you sponsor?


Please provide contact information for three references; these should include your supervisor, a colleague, and a student.
