Located on the north side of campus, Owen Hall is a co-ed residence with gender-separated wings and a strong sense of community. Home to several Living Learning Communities, Owen offers standard rooms without air conditioning, though all common areas are centrally cooled. The building includes study spaces, lounges, and easy access to nearby dining and campus landmarks like Slayter Hill and Mackey Arena.
Owen Hall opened in 1957. Named after Richard Owen—Purdue’s first president and a respected scholar in geology and meteorology—the hall reflects his legacy of leadership and innovation. Owen Hall continues to be a place where students connect, collaborate, and thrive in the heart of campus life.
