About University Residences

University Residences (UR) is the official department within Purdue University that is responsible for assigning and managing all University-owned housing facilities. In addition, due to the high demand, we also master lease nearby apartment communities to house students who want to enjoy the benefits of living with us. No matter whether you live in a traditional residence hall, an apartment or a master leased property, you are entitled to all the benefits of on-campus living and learning. We strive to do our best to create a home where everyone is set up for success.

Welcome Home

Although students are not required to live in campus housing (UR), many choose to. In fact, as of 2019, 94% of incoming students choose to live in University Residences. We offer more than just a place to rest your head. Our facilities are maintained to comply with high safety standards. We have student and professional staff to help support you and provide you with resources to make your Boilermaker experience the best it can possibly be. In addition, we offer programs, events, leadership and employment opportunities to connect you to learning and growing outside the classroom.

Community

We are a community. Your community. We want to help you as you navigate your first year of college to the day you walk off campus with a degree in hand. Even after you move on from small steps to big leaps, you become a member of a vibrant alumni network within the Boilermaker community. Imagine years down the road, discovering a connection with the more than 400,000 Purdue alums around the globe.

"You went to Purdue? Me, too! What hall did you live in?"

We take pride in our facilities, our programs and our people. Please let us know how we can make your years at Purdue "ever grateful, ever true." We are proud to help you "Boiler up!" And fondly say, "Hail, Purdue!"

Guidelines and Policies

In order to provide each student with a safe, supportive and inclusive community, we ask each student resident to comply with our policies and guidelines. Failure to comply could result in disciplinary action via our conduct process.
