Executive-in-Residence (EiR) Program Celebrates 5 Years!

In 2014, University Residences welcomed its first ever Executive-in-Residence. Now, in 2019, we are celebrating 5 years of continued growth and success of the program, having hosted over 25 Executives since our very first Executive, Rusty Rueff.

Our Executive alumni include top executives from corporations such as Accenture, Hatteras Yachts, Holland Cruise Lines, Huntington Bank, Wente Vineyards, Banana Republic, Busch Gardens and Sea World and many more. We will be welcoming new Executives this upcoming year from NASA, McDonalds’s and numerous other top corporations. The Executive-in-Residence (EiR) program gives our visiting Execs a chance to not only live and eat with University Residences students, but also participate in specially crafted experiences and programs allowing our students to interact one on one with them. The students may work with the Exec to develop their resumes, gain mentorship, or in the very least, create a connection with someone who started off where they are right now.

In conjunction with the culmination of the Purdue’s year-long 150th sesquicentennial celebration in October 2019, we will be welcoming back all our EiR alumni for a 5-year reunion and anniversary celebration. We are excited to look at the last 5 years, while planning the foundation for the future of the Executive-in-Residence program.

Please join us on Friday, October 11 from 2-3:30 p.m. in Fowler Hall for a panel discussion with our EiR alums.

Hosted by Drew Mattison, our alumni Executives will be discussing the three pillars of our program: Executives, Connection, and Students as they relate to the future of the program and the impact it has division- and campus-wide. CEOs, Presidents, Vice Presidents and top-level entrepreneurs will be diving into how this program provides networking for students, the impact it has had on our department and university campus as a whole and the connection of students with top-level executives through exclusive leadership opportunities. We encourage you and your students to attend this exciting event. The panel discussion will be held on in Fowler Hall from 2-3:30 pm. Please register soon as space is limited.
