2026-27 Indianapolis Housing Reapplication Process
All students living in University Residences have the opportunity to apply to continue living on campus at Purdue. Living on campus allows you to continue enjoying experiences such as programs, hall clubs and leadership opportunities while enjoying the convenience of having easy access to all that campus has to offer. Rooms are available to accommodate your preferred living situation and budget. The reapplication process for University Residences in Indianapolis begins on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Each resident interested in living in University Residences next year must sign up for Housing Reapplication Process. Residents can opt into the Housing Reapplication Process from January 20 at 9 a.m. EST to February 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST in the Housing Portal. Everyone who opts in during this window will have an equal chance at being selected in the process. During this step, you will also identify roommates or roommate preferences and sign a housing application. All residents who opt into the process will be notified on February 3 if they will have an opportunity to select a room for the 2026-27 academic year.

Steps and Dates
Step 1: Opt into the Housing Reapplication Process
January 20, 2026, at 9 a.m. EST – February 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST
Sign up for the Housing Reapplication Process begins on January 20 at 9 a.m. EST in the Housing Portal. The process to sign up will close on February 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Residents must opt in if they are interested in participating in the Housing Reapplication Process and sign the housing application. As a reminder, everyone who opts in during this window will have an equal chance at being selected in the process. Residents will also identify roommates or roommate preferences in this step. All process participants will have an equal opportunity to select a room, regardless of whether they are in a group or not. Group sizes will be weighted to ensure fairness.
NOTE: If you do not opt in to the Housing Reapplication Process by February 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST, you will not be considered for the opportunity to select a room for the 2026-27 academic year.
Step 2: Housing Results Notification
By February 3, 2026
Residents who participated in the Housing Reapplication Process will receive an email sent to their Purdue email address on February 3. In this email, you will either receive a date and time (time slot) to choose a room in the housing portal or a notification that you were not selected for reapplication. All students who are selected in the process will be able to choose a room from inventory available during their assigned time slot.
If you opt into the process and are not selected, you may be offered open space if it becomes available during room selection or have the opportunity to join a waitlist.
NOTE: Process selections are determined randomly.
Step 3: Room Selection and Confirm your Housing Contract
February 10 – February 11, 2026

Room Selection: February 10, 2026Room selection time slots will be scheduled during this timeframe. You will also be able to include your roommate in your room selection if identified in the opt-in phase.

Missed Time Slot Room Selection: February 11, 2026If a resident cannot make their assigned time slot or misses their assigned time slot, they will have an opportunity to select a room on February 11, 2026.

Contract Binding Date: February 16, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ESTIf a student has selected a room by this date and time, the housing contract will become legally binding.
Room Types Available:
Rooms of all types have been proportionally allotted for returners. Students who are selected in the process will be able to choose a room from available inventory during their room selection time slot.
