The Housing Reapplication process begins on October 9, 2023! Learn more about our Housing Reapplication process below. You can reapply for housing in University Residences by logging into the Housing Portal.

Housing Reapplication Opens Beginning October 9, 2023 The Housing Reapplication process opens in the Housing Portal. During the Apply phase, all current residents are eligible to fill out an application to live in University Residences during the 2024-25 Academic Year as well as select a roommate if they so choose.
Room Selection Beginning November 1, 2023 Current residents who have signed an application can begin selecting a room during their assigned time slots. Time slots will be emailed to your Purdue email in October.
Housing Reapplication Closes December 20, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. To live in University Residences for 2024-25, current residents must have signed an application and selected a room by this time.
Waitlist Opens December 21, 2023 Students who signed an application, were unable to select a room by the December 20 deadline, and were administratively canceled by University Residences may add their name to the waitlist beginning December 21.
Reapplication Closes February 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. All housing contracts become legally binding.

To reapply for housing, log in to the Housing Portal beginning October 9, 2023. Once in the portal, click Reapplication in the top navigation bar, then choose the 2024-25 academic year in the term selector.

To learn more details about each step in the Housing Reapplication process, read carefully through the following sections to ensure you are prepared to select the space you would like for the 2024-25 academic year. 

Housing Reapplication Phases

Beginning October 9, 2023: Apply Phase

On October 9, current residents who are planning to live with us next year can log in to the Housing Portal and apply for housing. Your application is required if you would like to select a room for next year during the Room Selection phase.

To begin the application, log in to the Housing Portal. Once in the housing portal, click Reapplication in the top navigation bar. Please follow the steps within the portal.

If you have not decided whether you will be living in University Residences next year, we advise you to apply for University Residences housing to keep this option available to you. You will have until February 28, 2024, to cancel but if you fail to apply and select a room by December 20, 2023, you will have to add your name to the waitlist for housing beginning December 21.

Roommate Request
You may begin building roommate groups within the Housing Portal. Roommate groups are people that you are interested in living with next year. You will need to request your roommate or accept a request to make this roommate group final. If your roommate request is accepted, you will also need to assign your accepted roommate request with you beginning with the start date of your room selection time slot. 

Very important! You will not be able to request a current student presently living off campus or an incoming transfer student for your roommate as these students will need to place their names on a waiting list to sign a housing contract if space is available after May 5, 2024.

It is important to complete the application to be eligible for the next phase of reapplication.

Beginning November 1, 2023: Room Selection Phase

All current residents will be assigned a time slot in October by email to their Purdue email account. Time slots are assigned by classification and randomized within those classifications. Room inventory will be gradually released during the various time slots. Current residents will need to enter the Housing Portal and select a room for next year.

November 1 – November 6, 2023: Senior and Junior Room Selection Begins
Senior and junior students have been assigned time slots within this date range. Those seniors and juniors who have signed an application and need to select a room may do so beginning at their assigned time slot until November 6, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Room selection for seniors/juniors will pause after time slots have concluded and will be paused until the sophomore/freshman time slots have concluded. Seniors/juniors may resume reviewing remaining available room inventory starting November 17, 2023.

November 6 – November 16, 2023: Sophomore and Freshman Room Selection Begins
Sophomore and freshman students have been assigned time slots within this date range. Those sophomores and freshmen who have signed an application and need to select a room may do so beginning at their assigned time slot. Students may select a room after their time slot until December 20, 2023.

All students will need to have a room selected by December 20, 2023 in order to have a completed application. It is recommended to select a room as soon as you are eligible or the space may not be available once the next phase begins.

December 20, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.: Housing Reapplication Closes

All interested current residents should fill out an application and select an available room for the 2024-25 academic year by December 20, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. You will have until February 28, 2024, to change your room or cancel your contract.

If you have not decided whether you will be living in University Residences next year, we advise you to apply for University Residences housing to keep this option available to you.

Any applications that are not complete and do not have a room selected by December 20, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. will be canceled. If you're still interested in living with University Residences, you may add your name to the waitlist beginning December 21, 2023.

December 21, 2023: Waitlist Opens

Students who signed an application, were unable to select a room by the December 20 deadline, and were administratively canceled by University Residences may add their name to the waitlist beginning December 21.

February 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.: Reapplication Ends

Current residents who have a completed housing application and selected a room have until February 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. to make changes or to cancel their housing contract for the 2024-25 academic year. 

Reapplication closes on February 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST, at which time all signed contracts in the system become legally binding. Beginning February 29, 2024, at 12 a.m. your signed contract for the 2024-25 academic year may only be canceled if you will NOT be attending Purdue University during the 2024-25 academic year contract term.

All signed contracts without a booking as of February 29, 2024 will be canceled. If this applies to you, you will be notified via your Purdue email account.
