University Residences at Purdue University in Indianapolis offers affordable, comfortable, and convenient housing for interns at LUX on Capitolwhether you're here for the summer or the academic year. Our spaces provide a great place to live, study, and connect with fellow interns while staying close to work and campus.

Academic Year Intern Housing is defined as a Purdue or non-Purdue student with an internship in the greater Indianapolis area needing housing. The housing dates align with the University's academic calendar. 

Summer Intern Housing is defined as a Purdue or non-Purdue student with an internship in the greater Indianapolis area needing housing. Housing dates correspond with the summer season.

Amenities at LUX on Capitol

  • All rooms in LUX are air-conditioned, fully furnished (linens not included), and include Wi-Fi and cable television hookup. 
  • All interns will reside in a four-bedroom apartment, where each intern will be provided a single bedroom and a private bathroom.
  • As no meal plans are available, each apartment will have a kitchen that is shared amongst the four interns, for which you will need your own cooking supplies. Cooking supplies will not be provided. 
  • LUX on Capitol is located just three blocks east of campus. Residents can enjoy the many amenities, including a luxurious clubhouse with media and gaming areas, a 24-hour fitness center, a pool with tanning ledge, a basketball court, and a fire pit.  

Requirements for Academic Year and Summer Intern Housing

 Each participant must meet the following requirements:

  • 18+ Years of Age 
  • Enrolled in a Higher Education, Degree-Seeking Program
  • Participating in an internship at Purdue University or in the Greater Indianapolis Area
  • Must abide by the guidelines of behavior for University Residences 
  • Must abide by the 2026 Intern Housing Agreement (preview agreement here

Applying and Reserving Your Space for Academic Year or Summer Intern Housing

Interns will need to apply individually. During the application process, the following documents will need to be uploaded:

  • Proof of enrollment in a degree-seeking program 
  • Proof of employment with your internship
  • Completed departmental account transfer form (Department Pay Option Only - Purdue ONLY) 
  • Completed company pay from (Company Pay Option Only)

Individual Intern Housing applications for the spring 2026 semester are now open.

Click the "Individual Intern Request" button below to submit your application. This is a 2-part application process. Once the necessary documents have been submitted, a member of the Purdue Housing Team will review them. If approved, the Individual will receive an email to complete the application process by submitting payment and selecting housing. A confirmation email will be sent to the Individual once the reservation has been completed/confirmed.

Application Deadline: Submission must be completed by Friday, December 19th at 11:59 pm. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Once rooms are no longer available, the portal will be turned off.

Cancellation/Reservation Changes: All cancellations must be received via email by Friday, December 19, at 11:59 pm to be eligible for a refund.

If the department with whom you are interning is paying for your housing, a departmental account transfer form will need to be completed. This form will be made available during the registration process and also above. Please have the departmental account transfer document completed and signed by a departmental authority.
  • Self-Pay Option
Pay the full amount of your stay with a major credit card or debit card at the time of online registration. Registration is not complete until full payment has been received.
  • Company Pay Option (download form here)
If the company with whom you are interning is paying for your housing, a company pay form will need to be completed. This form will be made available during the registration process and also above. Please have the company pay document completed and signed by a company authority. 
  • Banner - Charged to Student University Account (Academic Year Purdue Student Interns ONLY)
Pay the full amount through the myPurdue portal, where you can pay via electronic checking/savings accounts, credit card (with a service fee), set up installment payment plans, authorize a family member/guardian to make payments, or utilize outside scholarship money, 529 plans, or arrange for a third-party payer to make payment.
Summer Intern Housing

Group Housing 

Group Housing Request Portal for summer 2026 will open on Monday, November 3rd. 

Group Housing is available for Purdue Departments and Corporate Partners sending multiple interns to LUX on Capitol. A designated chairperson is responsible for submitting housing requests, managing the group roster, and coordinating all housing arrangements with University Residences. This option streamlines the process for larger groups and ensures accommodations are organized efficiently and conveniently.  


Individual Intern Housing

Individual Intern Housing applications for summer 2026 will open Monday, November 3rd.

Individual Intern Housing is available for both Purdue and non-Purdue students with internships in the greater Indianapolis area. Interns apply directly for housing at LUX on Capitol, making it a convenient option for those securing housing on their own. This option provides students with an independent living experience while still enjoying the comfort, convenience, and supportive community of University Residences. 

Click the "Individual Intern Request" button below to submit your application once it is open. This is a 2-part application process. Once the necessary documents have been submitted, a member of the Purdue Housing Team will review them. If approved, the Individual will receive an email to complete the application process by submitting payment and selecting housing. A confirmation email will be sent to the Individual once the reservation has been completed/confirmed.

Application Deadline: Submission must be completed three weeks prior to arrival date. Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on demand, rooms may not be available into the summer. Once rooms are no longer available, the portal will be turned off. 

Cancellation/Reservation Changes: All cancellations must be received via email by Friday, May 1st at 11:59 pm to be eligible for a refund. Cancellations or changes to a reservation made after May 1st at 11:59 pm are not refundable.
