Construction Updates - Third Street Suites North

Construction is well underway for the new Third Street Suites North Residence Hall. Third Street Suites will offer suite-style units, similar to the original Third Street. Located near central campus and just behind the Black Cultural Center, you'll be steps away from retail dining locations including Starbucks and Third Street Market. Wiley Dining Court is also just a short walk via sidewalks (no need to cross the street!). Also close by is the Purdue Co-Rec and convenient bus stops to get you where you need to go.

  • Masonry (brick) continues on the south side of building B (up to the fifth floor, now).
  • Inside, drywall and sanding continues - the student rooms are starting to take shape!
  • We continue to work on making the building site ready for winter weather (exterior sheething, water-tight inspections).
  • DID YOU KNOW? When students return from winter break, we'll be painting and tiling inside student rooms. Construction is on-schedule for Fall 2020 move-in.

  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection activities are still ongoing within the building.
  • Drywall continues inside the building.
  • Masonry continues on the south side of the north portion of the building, as well as the west side of the south portion of the building.

  • The exterior brick will be getting washed soon, so be on the lookout for the fresh-looking exterior of Third Street North!
  • DID YOU KNOW? The masons will put up a barrier during the winter to warm up the area they are working on. This will help keep the grout at the correct temperature so they can continue working through freezing temperatures this winter.

"Hi! I'm Jared, the Construction Advocate for Third Street Suites North. I chose to major in Construction Management Technology because the construction industry will always be around. I think it's also exciting to look at a building and say "I had a part in that." I love Purdue because it is a university of hard-working people that are all trying to work toward a better future."
