Subject: Renew your 2022-23 Housing Contract with Purdue University Residences

Hello,

Welcome to University Residences 2022-2023 online Re-Application! Thank you for choosing to live with us this year. We hope you will consider returning to University Residences for the 2022-23 academic year. We have a variety of housing options available to fit your lifestyle and budget.

You are invited to renew your housing contract beginning November 1, 2021 at 12 p.m. (noon) for the 2022-23 academic year at https://housing.purdue.edu/portal. The deadline to renew your housing contract is February 28, 2022 at 11:55 p.m. EST. It is very important that you refer to the information below for the steps you will need to complete to reserve your housing for the 2022-23 academic year.

Re-Application is a phased process based on where the resident currently lives and their University classification. With the exception of November 1, 2021, each phase becomes active at 8:30 a.m. and remains active until February 28, 2022 at 11:55 p.m. There are two options to renew your contract. You may choose to Return to Your Same Room or Move to a Different Room.

UNIVERSITY RESIDENCES CHANGES AND UPDATES

There will be several changes in University Residences effective the 2022-23 academic year (August 2022 – May 2023).

  • Blackbird Farms, Southfork, Stratford II, Two 30 One Flats, and Windsong Apartments will no longer be master leased through University Residences for the upcoming academic year.

  • Several rooms in various halls will be unavailable for returners due to changes in Learning Community usage, gender reconfiguration or other repurposing. These residents and all Honors College and Residences spaces will be displaced. Current residents in these rooms will have priority as a displaced resident for choosing their new space.

SELECT YOUR ROOM, A MEAL PLAN, AND SIGN A HOUSING CONTRACT

Below are the phase eligibility dates to select your room or apartment, choose a meal plan and sign a housing contract for the 2022-23 academic year. Important Note: If you wish to participate during a particular phase, you should renew your contract as soon as you are eligible or the space may not be available once the next phase begins. For example, the first phase is for students who wish to return to their current room. If you do not select your same room, choose your meal plan and sign a housing contract during the “Return to Your Same Room” phase, your room may be reserved by another student during the subsequent phases or may be closed for other space management needs.  Residents who do not renew their housing contract for their current room during the “Return to Your Same Room” phase will be eligible to see other available spaces in Re-Application beginning with the start date of their current University classification phase date (see below).

  1. New spring semester residents are all students, regardless of classification, who have a signed housing contract for the spring semester only.

Additional Important Notes:

  • You will have the opportunity to request a roommate in Re-Application during the “Return to Your Same Room” phase after signing a housing contract. Very Important! If your roommate request is accepted, you will also need to assign your accepted roommate request with you beginning with the start date of your current University classification phase date (see priority phase dates above).

  • If you want to request a new incoming student to University Residences for the 2022-2023 Academic Year, your friend must have already started a housing contract in the new student housing contract portal for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. The new student housing contract portal will open around mid-January 2022. It is important to note that you will not be able to request a current student presently living off campus or an incoming transfer student for your roommate as these students will be required to place their name on a waiting list to sign a housing contract if space is available after May 5, 2022.

HONORS COLLEGE RESIDENTS – ROOMMATE REQUESTS

Current Honors College residents who want to live in one of the designated returning Honors College spaces will be required to have a roommate from Honors College.
