Want To Be A Resident Assistant?
To qualify, you must meet the following by the end of the Spring 2021 semester:
- 36 undergraduate credit hours (those in master's and Ph.D. programs meet this requirement)
- Minimum of one year living in a residence hall at the college/university level
- Cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
- Must be able to serve for one full academic year
- Must complete an online application by November 8, 2020

To apply for the RA Position:
- Watch the virtual information session (above link)
- Complete the survey that can be found at the end of the virtual information session
- Follow the instructions at the end of the survey to sign up for a 20-minute informational conversation with a Residence Education Assistant, a Residence Education Coordinator or an Assistant Director of Residential Life
- After all of the above are completed, you will receive a link to the application
- Complete the application by Sunday, November 8th, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
Phase One
- View online information session
- Participate in a meeting with a current Residence Education Assistant (REA), Residence Education Coordinator (REC) or Assistant Director of Residential Life. More information about this meeting will be introduced during the virtual information session.
- Receive notification regarding your application and qualifications by January 15th, 2021, to move on to Phase Two which includes how to register for the Big Weekend (see below).
Phase Two
- Attend sessions of the Big Weekend from February 5-7th, 2021. The Big Weekend includes a group interview and a 30-minute individual interview during parts of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Successful completion of the Big Weekend is mandatory in order to be eligible for hire for the RA position; successful completion of the Big Weekend does not guarantee a resident assistant position.
- You will be notified prior to Spring Break regarding employment.
