Welcome to Shreve Hall! This residence hall opened in 1970 and was named after Eleanor Burns Shreve. She was an author, educator, world traveler, musician and constructive activist who wrote and conducted scenarios for radio when radio was at its peak as an entertainment and communications medium. Residents live on single gender floors in standard rooms located near a community bathroom.
Shreve Hall is home to numerous learning communities and is home to one of the University Residences Academic Support Centers. Have a group project and need a place to meet? Need a quiet place to study or type a paper? Inside the support center, you'll find private study rooms, medium and large conference rooms to reserve for your group and a computer lab. Stop in and take a look around. You'll discover why approximately 2,000 students per week took advantage of these facilities in Spring 2021!
Shreve Hall is located on Third Street, right across from the Purdue Fire Department and the France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center. It's right in the middle of everything! Hillenbrand and Earhart Dining Courts are a short walk away, as is Panera and Qdoba inside Meredith South, along with Sushi Boss and 1Bowl inside Meredith Hall. Also, the All-American Marching Band practices in the field across Third Street. You'll love walking home from class listening to the sounds of "Hail, Purdue!"
